Yesterday was...buisy!
We started yesterday with the singular mission of getting Jamey a motorcycle so that he could ride to work thus enabling him to both use the carpool lane saving time and save gas...which is three elevin a gallon. We also got my truck back from the repair shop.
It was a lovely day really, just one of those where you never seem to stop. We spent some time at Bent Bike but they did not want to help Jamey. We went to Cycle Barn but were not approved, so we came home and then Jamey found a NightHawke for sale in Kingston. So we went out again!
In order to get there we had to take the Ferry, which we have not done before in the truck. It is such a chore for most of the commuters, but for us desert rats it was a real fun time! The kiddos just love the Ferry, and despite my trepidations( not being able to swim should the worst occur!) I really love it as well! ;) I had wanted to see Kingston anyway and my goodness but it is beautiful! A lush peaceful island feel dotted with colourful artisticly kept homes. Even the buisness' seem to be a colourful lot.
The couple that we got the NH from were so nice and lived in a big blue and purple house with a lovely garden of Japanese Maple,Iris the colours of the house, and daisys. The trees were left to grow wild and were towers of green between them and their neighbors houses. Truely I could not see that they had any! All went well untill we got back to the dock and the motorcycle would not start...dead battery! But they let him push it on board and tried to help get it going. He had to push it to the Skippers Restaurant when we got to the other side, and then we had dinner while he worked on it. I wanted him to buy a new battery, but they do not come charged and it takes all night to charge them!!! Ridiculous! We decided to nurse it home by pulling to the side of the road and jumpstarting it everytime it died. Honestly! I thought at one point like we would not manage it. When we got home he parked the bike behind our Caddy and took the truck and Sara to get the rest of the stuff he needed. It was already past Paddy and Ethans bedtime and they had had no nap, so I just put them to bed and they went right to sleep! Soon enough Jamey and Sara were home and needless to say, we all slept really well last night! :) But he has his bike and it runs nicely. So all is well! ((Pictures to follow!))

You have a red jar of cedar chips. Why do moths miss the forest?
Do they?! Lynnwood is a claustrophobic living pine box! These moths don't miss much! Besides, the moth who flies through the tree tops for the moon and gets eaten by a bat does not get to nobly retire to a grey velvet clad harem with the scorch marks of a battle with the fiery moon that hangs outside of my screen door upon his wings, nor tell his valiant war stories to the weevils in the dark frosty stretches of the night...I don’t care as long as that garnet jar with the punctured lid in the back corner of my closet keeps my Norwegian Wool Ski sweater safe!
No Bake Gingerbread Rum Ball Cookies
You Will Need;
40 Gingersnap Cookies
3 Tablespoons Dark Corn Syrup
2 Tablespoons Creamy Penut Butter
1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 Cup Rum...(Granny uses white Bacardi...I like Captain Morgans Tattoo)
- Place cookies in a large resealable bag and crush finely.
- Combine corn syrup and peanutbutter in a bowl.
- Add crushed snaps and rum to the bowl. Mixture should hold together without being sticky.
- Shape into 1" balls and then roll in powdered sugar untill WELL coated. Don't skimp on the sugar!
- Store in a wide mouthed glass jar sealed with a cork if possible. The longer these keep the better they are!
- ENJOY!!!
I found a log entry from April 1, 06 in my chunky book!

Jamey and I took the kiddos swimging...a nice drizzly day! So quiet...Only ones at the pool.
Paddy floated for a second but doesn't like to get water in his ears. I so want the kids to be swimmers. This summer is swimming lessons for sure. The kids tried out the sauna...I sat and read and wrote.
Lovely day...Turkey and pratsies for dinner...Ethan singing "Row Row Row Your Boat" as Jamey carries him through the water...Sara hanging on his back and kicking her feet...beauty!
A Whisper of Grey
~I saw you today~
~~Whilst combing through my hair in the half light of dawn~~
~~~A glistening strand whispering my childrens names to me~~~
~~And giggling something about age and stress~~
~Silence! I quietly command...as I tug. No one will be the wiser~
